I will also be missed by friends near and far. I will also be sadly missed by Dale and his wife, Ayi and their adult children Harriet and her adult children, Andy Goodson and Wendy Ackerman and their 5 adult children Jane and Steve Eitman and their 2 adult children, and Harriet's sister, Rhoda. I will be sadly missed by Glenn, Lynn, and Jeff. I was predeceased by my mother and father. My first year of retirement was mostly wonderful before my illness had other plans for me. I think I sometimes learned as much or more from them than they did from me. I loved working with them and am grateful for all they taught me. I volunteered for various social service non-profits, the Orono Land Trust, and Penobscot Valley Senior College.Ĭhoosing to be a social worker who opened a part-time counseling private practice, I cared deeply about my clients. and overseas, sometimes with Glenn, other times with either or both kids and with friends. I have traveled to beautiful places in the U.S.

Each gave me the gift of learning, sometimes the hard way, other times easily, more about myself and life. We raised 2 wonderful children, Lynn and Jeff, who have very different personalities. I deeply loved and appreciated him for all he did and is. Glenn, my husband, and rock of 43 years was supportive throughout my terrible illness. My parents, then my dad, privileged me with a great education in college and graduate school. Sadly, my mom died when she was 46 my dad later married a wonderful woman, Harriet, and the two of them committed themselves to blending our families with fairness. I was happy growing up with my parents, Edward and Elaine Lifson and brother, Dale.

I have lived a good life and consider myself fortunate to have had so many opportunities. Orono - Nancy, 67, died from pancreatic cancer, peacefully in her sleep on April 6, 2023, surrounded by family.
